What Does This Parshah Mean to Me?

  1. In Judaism, people are born part of specific groups – Kohen, Levi and Yisrael. Read this article to find out what the differences are.  Do you know which tribe are you from?
  2. This portion is part of the book “BaMidbar”, which means “wilderness”.  The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt all their lives, and all of a sudden they found themselves in the wilderness, learning a new way of life.   How do you think they must have felt?
  3. Read how the objects in the Tabernacle are meant to be cared for.  What does this tell you about their importance? Do you have any special objects in your family?  Why are they special? How do you treat them?
  4. Look at the way a woman is treated if she is accused of adultery.  Does something bother you about it? What?
  5. Look up what leprosy is.  Why do you think people who had it in the Torah were treated the way they were?
  6. Why do you think people would want to become Nazarites?
