(scenarios) What would you do?

  1. Have you ever moved from one place to another where you knew no one?  How did you feel? If you see a new kid in your class, what should you do?
  2. You know a lot about cars.  You’re considered the expert among your friends.  You are proud of what you know. One day, a friend asks you a very specific question about the engine in a 1698 Mustang.  You don’t know the answer. What do you do?

What Does This Parshah Mean to Me?

  1. What items in the Tabernacle can you find in a sanctuary today?
  2. Read about the Menorah:  http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-menorah  What are the  different explanations for it’s purpose?
  3. This portion is part of the book “BaMidbar”, which means “wilderness”.  The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt all their lives, and all of a sudden they found themselves in the wilderness, learning a new way of life.   How do you think they must have felt?
  4. Why do you think the ages that the Levites would begin and end their service were spelled out?  
  5. Look at chapter 9, verses 6-13.  Here, the people ask a specific question regarding passover.  What was Moses’ answer? What does it tell you about his character?
  6. Why do you think Moses reacted the way he did when he heard about Eldad and Medad? What does that tell us about him?
