Summary

A man named Yitro or Jethro, traveled to join the Israelites in the desert with his daughter Zipporah, the wife of Moses, and their 2 sons. Yitro advised Moses to share some of his responsibilities before he wore himself out. He was the community organizer.

Arriving at Mount Sinai, the people prepared themselves to receive the Law. G-d then presented the Ten Commandments from the thundering, cloud-covered mountain top.
