A Man Named Korach
Parshat Korach
Numbers Chapters 16:1 to 18:32
Summary
The Levite man, Korach, was resentful of his cousin Aaron’s superior status and he challenged his authority. Moses then staged a contest of priestly leadership between Korach and Aaron.
When Korach and his followers brought fire pans to the Tent of Meeting, the ground suddenly opened up and swallowed them.
G-d reaffirmed Aaron’s role as the high priest and explained all the rewards to the Levites for their service in the Tent of Meeting.
