The First Passover (Pesach)
Parshat Bo
Exodus Chapters 10:1 to 13:6
Summary
G-d sent two more plagues: swarms of locusts, followed by three days of darkness.
At G-d’s command, the Israelites celebrated the first Passover, and smeared blood on their doorposts to protect them from the Angel of Death. Then G-d struck down all the first-born of Egypt, but passed over the homes of the Israelites. Pharoah ordered the Hebrew slaves to leave Egypt, and they left in a hurry.
